Kyla was born in Grand Falls, North Dakota, and grew up in Dennard, Arkansas, with a short chapter in Minnesota along the way. As a child, she dreamed of being a writer or an artist—creativity has always been part of her life.
She earned her B.A. from Arkansas Tech University before moving to Little Rock to attend law school. Her decision to pursue law was sparked by learning about the events leading up to the Civil Rights Act—a moment that shaped her passion for justice. Before joining Punchwork, Kyla represented students with disabilities, from kindergarten all the way through graduate school, working on cases involving IEPs and 504 plans.
Helping people is what drives her, and she brings that same dedication into every case. Outside of work, Kyla enjoys drawing, painting, playing in the garden, and the occasional nap. She shares life with her partner, James, and their big orange cat, Jack, who keeps things interesting at home.
Unless you’re already a lawyer, you probably have questions. We believe in educating people on the law, even if they don’t use our services. Go ahead and dive in.
