Malvina Chetty—most people call her Mal—is a Drafting Paralegal at Punchwork who brings experience, care, and quiet confidence to her work every day. Born and raised in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, Mal proudly describes herself as a small-town farm girl, rooted in simplicity and strong values.
As a child, Mal dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, driven by a deep love for dogs. That dream shifted once she learned the job also involved feathery and scaly patients, but her desire to help never changed—it simply found a new home in the legal field.
Mal began her legal career back in 2012, starting as a typist and steadily growing through hands-on experience, study, and determination. In 2023, she earned her Certificate in Paralegal Studies, graduating with distinctions, and she’s currently working toward her LLB. Her journey reflects patience, perseverance, and a genuine commitment to the profession.
What Mal enjoys most about her work is knowing that she’s made a real, legal difference in someone’s life—even in a small way. That sense of purpose is what keeps her motivated.
Outside of work, Mal enjoys sketching, reading, and listening to music, often combining all three. When she has no plans and no responsibilities, her ideal day involves lying down with a good book and completely forgetting the world exists—whether she’s discovering a new universe or revisiting an old favorite that feels like catching up with old friends.
